GoWild Africa is a family-owned safari company situated at the foothills of Mount Kenya – the heart of wild Africa! Our mission is to deliver African experiences that create memories to last a lifetime.
At GoWild Africa we have a deep passion for wildlife, the environment and the people of Kenya. Going on “safari” is an incredible experience. We believe everyone should do it at least once in their life – young or old, it’s never too late!
Our mission is to provide guests with a unique view of Africa: created by intimate encounters with wildlife in one of the most beautiful parts of Kenya. There are options to suit everyone, from exhilarating horse riding safaris, to more relaxed or energetic game walks.
We provide individualised experiences tailored to the interests of each group. For some people it is a lifelong dream to see ‘The Big Five’. Others are keen to try out their photography skills and some just want to relax and drink in the sights and sounds of the African bush. We recognise all of you want to get something different out of your trip, and it is our aim to provide an experience which has this flexibility.
Community development is something that is very important to us at GoWild Africa.
Supporting the local community is an integral part of our business. A percentage of each booking made will go back into the local community and guests are invited to spend a morning or afternoon with us at the local Ngenia Primary school. You can teach a lesson, join in a game of football or just go down for a look around to see how your contribution has helped to improve their educational experience.
Deforestation is a problem in this part of Kenya. To tackle this we have set up a tree nursery and community planting project. We are also working with the local community to raise awareness about the environment and the long term detrimental effects of cutting down trees. We’re delighted to see more and more people digging water pans, following our example!
Over the last two years, we have planted more than 2000 indigenous trees on our 120 acre farm . . . most are thriving. Elizabeth would be delighted to show you round and point out all the different types.
