Mammals and birds of East Africa
Step back a minute. Did you say East Africa has the highest density of wildlife than anywhere else in the world? Yup. We did indeed. Here at GoWild Africa we love our wildlife and we get a buzz from sharing this love with our guests. Olepangi Farm is situated in the Laikipia region of Kenya. We are proud not only to boast having the big five but also what we call “the northern five.” Only in this region of Kenya can you see animals such as the Grevvys Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Geranuk, Beiser Oryx and, our favourite, the Reticulated Giraffe.
If it’s birds you’re into then you’re sure to be excited with the chance to see lilac breasted rollers, augur buzzards, goshawks, barbets… the list is endless.
The Lolldaiga ranch is a magical place to see many of these animals. The GoWild team frequently comes across elephant, reticulated giraffe, eland, hartebeest, zebra, and buffalo to name but a few. Of course, we can never guarantee a sighting of any particular bird or animal, but we can promise that you won’t be disappointed.
“These rolling lands are absolutely teeming in game. Big herds of zebra were popping out from everywhere, and we came across some great big herds of elephant and enjoyed watching them at a safe distance.”
