Sleeping in the bush

We’ve done a huge amount of bush camping over the years and have learned a few things about what’s essential and what’s not. Here’s what we think:  you need to be able to stand up in your tent, move your legs in your sleeping bag, have a hot shower on demand and sit down on a loo with a view!

So . . . at GoWild Africa we do just that:  we’ve got the best stand-up, rip-stop canvas tents you can buy in the world.  We provide the cosiest flannel sleeping bags you can imagine and comfy camp beds that keep you off the ground. We also have hot-shower tents and we’ve taught our camp team to site the loos looking out onto the most stunning views available.

Tales round the campfire

Clinton and Elizabeth have created the most magical safari experience

Meals are taken either out in the open under a starry sky or in our mess tent depending on the weather. Each tent has it’s own wash basin, chairs and kerosene/ solar lighting.

We don’t do over-the-top five star luxury; think more comfortable, cozy camping in the stunning, wild African bush!

For those who want the best of both worlds

For those who would prefer not to camp we can use the beautiful Lolldaiga Farmhouse as our base. This works particularly well for larger groups and families with smaller children as there is a large fenced garden.  The Farmhouse was built as a manager’s house in the 1960s almost completely from old cedar wood. There are three en-suite double bedrooms, and one twin bedroom with a sink/toilet. The stunning garden looks directly out on Mt Kenya and is positioned on the dividing ridge line making it easy to explore both the north and south of the ranch.
